đ Unlocking the Potential of Our Waterfront Communities đđĩđŦ
Some of Papua New Guinea's most valuable assets are not found underground—they are found along our coastlines, waterfronts, and beautiful natural harbors.
For communities in areas such as Hanuabada, Porebada, and other waterfront precincts, development does not have to mean giving up ownership of customary land. Instead, landowners can explore partnership models that allow them to remain stakeholders while attracting investment.
Through long-term lease arrangements, joint ventures, revenue-sharing agreements, and community trusts, landowners can contribute land while investors bring capital, expertise, and infrastructure. With support from the National Government, these partnerships can create opportunities for tourism, hospitality, marinas, entertainment precincts, cultural centers, and small business growth.
The goal should not be simply to sell land, but to transform land into a long-term income-generating asset that benefits current and future generations.
When landowners, investors, communities, and government work together, we can create sustainable developments that generate jobs, attract visitors, strengthen local businesses, and build lasting prosperity for Papua New Guinea.
The future belongs to communities that turn ownership into partnership and opportunity into legacy.
